Character Q&A: Pulling Up a Chair with Samantha
Good morning, Marvellous Mavens! I'm taking a coffee break with Samantha, the female main character in my Copake Lake Mysteries series, the third book Lies of Omission I'm writing right now.
Hi, Sam. How are you holding up with everything going on in your life right now?
Samantha: Well, I wasn't thrilled that I had to cut my honeymoon short, but I'm always down for a mystery. It was me who encouraged Jake to read that letter sooner rather than later, so I guess it's my own doing. Jake says maybe we can have a do-over for our first anniversary.
That sounds exciting. Without giving too much away, what's the biggest secret or obstacle you're dealing with?
Samantha: I did eventually get Jake to read the letter and now we're dealing with repercussions from that. Without giving too much away, it contained a bombshell that we end up having to deal with.
What's your go-to comfort drink or guilty pleasure when you're stressed?
Samantha: It's going to sound counterproductive, but I always enjoy a good cup of coffee, especially now that I've moved up north to New York. It's especially nice during the colder, snowy months.
