My Top 3 Writing Distractions (and How I Fight Them)
Good morning, Marvellous Mavens! Welcome to the weekend!
Today, I thought I'd talk about my top 3 writing distractions that I deal with on a daily basis.
For one, my husband always has the tv on while I'm writing, and sometimes what he's watching gets interesting. Usually, we're watching One Piece or Gilmore Girls or something else I can semi-ignore so I can write. But, sometimes, a part gets my interest and I get distracted from my writing.
Another one is my cats. They get the zoomies and start running around the living room like crazy. Other times, one of them will walk on top of me or want to be petted, making it impossible to type until they move. Of course I have to pet them when they request it.
The last one is an unfortunate necessity...housework. One day, I'll make enough with my writing to be able to afford a maid. But until then, it's up to me and my husband. My sweet husband does do the dishes for me, but pretty much the rest of the house is my responsibility. Unfortunately, there's no way around this but to get it done and to write after.
Once I have an office again, things will be different, but for now, I'm having to make do with writing in the living room with all the distractions.
